What may happen during a myopia assessment?
- A discussion about the child’s vision, general health and family history.
- Measurement of visual acuity and refractive error.
- Assessment of focusing, eye coordination and binocular vision where clinically relevant.

Why are reviews important?
Myopia can progress at different rates. Scheduled reviews allow the optometrist to check vision, lens fit or spectacle performance, eye health and changes in refractive error or axial length. The review interval is set for the individual child.

Can myopia be permanently cured?
Myopia management is intended to correct vision and, where appropriate, reduce the rate of progression. Outcomes vary, and treatment does not remove the need for monitoring.
Is orthokeratology suitable for every child?
No. Suitability depends on the prescription, corneal measurements, eye health, hygiene, maturity and ability to follow the prescribed wear and care schedule.
